After a lot of research about car reliability and pricing, including sitting in a number of cars at dealerships before I was even ready to buy, I drove home Tuesday from Jim Hudson Toyota with my new Corolla Hatchback. This is the first car I have bought on my own. It was hard for me in a big way, but I met Zak Zartmann who patiently answered all of my questions and concerns with no pressure. I didn't get numerous calls and texts from him every day, but when I initiated calls or texts with questions, he answered right away. I also met Nick in finance. He took time to fully explain my options and again didn't add pressure to make a sale. (That hasn't always been the case in car purchases over the years.) We had negotiated a fair price, and I left feeling excited about my new car, not only excited, but confident that I have a quality place I can go for car help if I ever need it. Zak is the main reason I bought my car from Jim Hudson. Meeting him first set the tone for the rest of the purchase. I wasn't going to add this, but my husband's death is why I was on my own. Even though I didn't choose some of the things that would have added to the cost of the sale, I was treated with thoughtfulness and integrity by Zak and Nick. We finally decided to make the drive from Augusta to Jim Hudson Toyota in Columbia, and it was absolutely worth it! We ended up finding TWO perfect 4Runners; my husband got the black one and I got the white one. Ryan and Chuck were amazing to work with from start to finish. We visited Jim Hudson Toyota in Irmo about two years ago, and might as well have been invisible, as no one acknowledged us initially. To be fair, a promotion was going on at that time, with participants invited to bring in rub-off ads, but I was hesitant to visit again. This time, we visited at my wife's request, as she saw a RAV4 in the lot that interested her. I made it clear to Chase, our sales guy, and the management team that SHE was the customer, not me. My wife underwent a major surgery 11 days earlier, so wasn't in the mood for small talk, she just wanted the facts on the car she liked. Chase was immediately responsive, and made the process easy. We pointed out that we (she) planned to pay in full immediately. Thankfully, no one pushed financing options on us (which is typical with most dealers), and she was able to complete the transaction within an hour. As she couldn't drive yet after her surgery, Chase was good enough to deliver the new vehicle, and pick up out trade-in just a couple of hours after the sale. I'm in the marketing a public relations business, and it's nice to see that the folks at Jim Hudson have gotten their act in order. We're happy to recommend Chase and the other sales staff if you're in the market for a new vehicle.

I left home Saturday afternoon with a friend intent on returning with a car. I had the most wonderful experience than I’ve ever had. I dreaded going to look for a car b/c I knew from past experiences at other dealerships the sales person are out in the parking lot in your face BEFORE you can exit the car like vultures. They brought back two price. Saying S. Dakota was about $1500 and S. Carolina was $599. I said that surprised me as SD is always less. Carolina is only 599 for the same thing.” Do SC and we can get the price where you want it”. Against my better judgement but being new to SC I went along with it. Only to find out on the day my first payment was due I owe ANOTHER $1000+ dollars to the county. The exact tax I explained I was trying to avoid by tagging it in South Dakota! Which anyone is allowed to do, by the way. They pulled this trick to make the over all numbers work in the deal, so I would buy. Completely against what I said I wanted and now I’ll end up paying thousands more than what I thought to fix this and retag it in SD! This also makes me wonder what else they tricked me into, with the additional warranty & financing. Buyer Beware!!! After being ripped off on the sales floor, I now enter the service part of “THE JIM HUDSON EXPERIENCE!” Absolutely incredible! Best customer service I’ve ever had from any dealership (including luxury brands) in 40 years of buying cars. The financial adviser, Lee, did an excellent job of presenting warranty options so that I could make the best choice for me. Had an excellent experience buying at Jim Hudson Toyota. Angel Cedeno was very helpful throughout the process, even sending us a video prior to our appointment. Chuck Gainey made us feel welcomed and cared for. Lee Gillian ensured we got the otd price we wanted. Overall, we had an excellent experience.

I bought a 2026 Camry from Zak Zartmann. My experience was professional and it was good to get into something new. I had recently bought a gmc the year before but it had many issues. I am very satisfied with my new purchase at Toyota!

Good morning people haven’t posted in some time but let me tell about my car buying experience at Jim Hudson Toyota in Columbia SC. I was one of the best experiences I have had at a dealership. I parked and immediately was greeted by at least two workers in the parking lot. But was there to see Mr. Burley, Thomas he sold me the last 3 vehicles. CHR, Corolla & rav4 adventure. See I wasn’t there to get the 4Runner and it is sexy ( just saying) I was asking about the Land Cruiser Mini because I needed something a tad larger than the rav4 and just then my wife & I seen the 4Runner Tom and the finance guy came up with a deal I could not turned down. I wanted to take a moment to express how genuinely impressed we were with our experience this past Mother's Day Weekend at Jim Hudson. Quite honestly, I am still somewhat surprised by how seamless, transparent, and stress-free the entire vehicle purchasing process was. Having purchased numerous vehicles over the years — including one as recently as March — I have unfortunately become accustomed to high-pressure sales tactics, unnecessary delays, and overly manipulative negotiation practices that often make the process exhausting and frustrating. Our experience at Jim Hudson was the complete opposite and, frankly, restored my confidence that a professional and customer-focused automotive sales experience still exists in today’s market. From the moment we arrived and were greeted in the parking lot, the professionalism and hospitality were evident. Paul was exceptionally knowledgeable, respectful, and never once applied pressure throughout the process. Likewise, Chuck demonstrated the same level of professionalism and transparency from a management perspective. At no point did we feel as though we were dealing with sales games or unnecessary back-and-forth negotiations. The entire process was efficient, straightforward, and genuinely pleasant. The experience was positive enough that it honestly makes me consider bringing in my three-month-old 2026 Ram 1500 for trade consideration — although I still wish Toyota would bring back the V8 option in the Tundra. Please extend our appreciation to everyone involved. It was truly an outstanding experience.
